SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2017

The Suffering presented by Maritime CrossFit is a one day Partner Competition featuring teams made up or two men or two women. The event consists of 3 WODs for all teams followed by a Final WOD for top teams to crown the male and female podium finishers in Elite, Competitive and Masters 40+ Divisions. Athletes attend from all over Atlantic Canada!

The 2017 edition of The Suffering will have a maximum of 80 Teams Registered!

Movement Standards Guideline:

This guideline can be used to determine the difference from “Elite” to “Competitive” to “Masters 40+” divisions. This guideline is NOT based on the WODs that will be released, nor is it a guarantee the movements and weights listed below will be included in The Suffering. Please select your division with the understanding that each team member does not need to be proficient in all of the movements listed. During the WODs in The Suffering, we will not require the work for each movement to be shared. For example, if only one team member is able to complete Muscle-ups, then that team member would need to complete all of the Muscle-up reps during the WOD. Again, keep in mind this list is in no way complete or inclusive of all possible movements or weights. It is simply a guideline used to help determine which division you will sign up for.

Elite:

An “Elite” Team should have at least one athlete who is able and proficient in the following movements:
Pistols
Muscle-ups (rings or bar)
Double Unders
Chest to Bar Pull-ups
Toes to Bar
Handstand Pushups

If a WOD had 30-45 reps of any of the following movements and weights, the athlete would be able to move that load / perform that movement without modification and in a timely matter
KBS (70/53)
Snatch (135/95)
Clean & Jerk (185/135)
Deadlift (225+/155+)
Clean/Squat Clean 1RM = or > 245/165

Competitive & Masters 40+:
A “Competive” Team should have at least one athlete proficient in the following movements:
Air Squats
Pull-ups
Double Unders
Toes to Bar
Hand Release Pushups

If a WOD had 30-45 reps of any of the following movements and weights, the athlete would be able to move that load / perform that movement without modification and in a timely matter
KBS (53/35)
Snatch (95/65)
Clean & Jerk (135/95)
Deadlift (185/125)
Clean/Squat Clean 1RM = or > 200/135

Note for Masters:

At least 6 teams are required for this division to be created. If there are not enough teams registered, we will contact those teams that are registered to determine which of the other two divisions they wish to compete in.
