Notes:

Time is recorded when both athletes jump onto a box.

Athletes must tag at every transition between partners.

For each rep not completed, one second will be added to the the 4 minute time cap.

 

 

Standards:

HSPU

  • Athlete must begin the repetition inverted against the wall with arms fully extended.
  • Athlete’s hands must be within a defined marked area of 40″x 24″.
  • The athlete will lower their body down until their head touches floor level and then press their body up to full extension with arms fully locked out.
  • At completion of the repetition, only the athlete’s feet may be touching the wall. Both feet must be touching the wall at the same time with the athlete’s arms fully locked out for the rep to count.

Hand Release Push-ups

  • The athlete begins each repetition with both full hands and fingers clearly released and in no contact with the floor.  The athlete’s chest must be touching the floor at the same time the hands are released.
  • Supported only by their toes, the athlete must press their body up until their arms are fully extended.
  • At the completion of a successful rep, the athletes knees, hips and shoulders form a visible straight line and both arms are fully locked out to extension.

Power Clean

  • The repetition begins with the barbell on the floor.
  • The athlete must bring the barbell from the floor to shoulder in one continuous motion.  Any pause at the hip or change in direction of the barbell will be a no rep.
  • NO SQUAT CLEANS PERMITTED. Power cleans may not pass through a squat to complete the rep.
  • At completion of the repetition, the athlete must stand tall with knees, hips and shoulders in a visible straight line.
  • Athlete must receive the bar in the front rack position with elbows visibly ahead of the barbell.

Front Squat

  • The repetition begins with the athlete standing fully erect with the barbell in the front rack position at the shoulders.
  • The athlete must squat the weight with the hip crease below parallel.
  • At completion of the rep, athlete must stand tall with knees, hips and shoulders in a visible straight line with elbows in front of the barbell.
  • NO SQUAT CLEANS PERMITTED. At no time may the first repetition of the Front Squat be achieved by Squat Clean.  Power Clean first, then Front Squat.

Jerk

  • The repetition starts with the athlete standing fully erect with the barbell in the front rack position at the shoulders and ends with the barbell locked out fully overhead.
  • The Jerk may not be achieved with a Thruster which would begins at the bottom of the front squat. There must be a clear pause at transition between the front squat and the Jerk.
  • The repetition is successful at the top of the lift when the barbell is stacked directly over the athlete’s midline with arms locked out and the athlete has shown control.
  • At completion of the repetition, both feet must be under the athlete’s body and the weight directly overhead with knees, hips, shoulders and barbell in a visible straight line.
