Our classes consist of a warm-up, strength-training, a WOD ("Workout of the Day"), stretching and core-strengthening work. Every class is supervised by CrossFit-Certified Trainers, who are there to ensure everyone is performing the movements safely, teaching proper form on various exercises and lifts, providing tips on technique, and motivating you to get the most out of each and every workout.
The goal of CrossFit is always to provide workouts that are constantly varied from day-to-day, using multi-joint functional movements, and to do so at high intensity. It is with this high intensity that you will gain the most results. Anyone of any fitness level can perform these workouts and each and every workout is modifiable to certain injuries or body-types.
You will find that the typical movements in the CrossFit classes are body-weight movements such as push-ups, air squats, jumping, pull-ups, and yes.... there are also burpees :). Weight movements that you are exposed to are shoulder press and its variations, Squat and its variations, deadlift, power clean, and the power snatch. Running, rowing, and skipping are often also added to ensure your heart is pumping and the sweat is flowing. There are many more fun exercises that could be part of the workout on any given day - and that is the fun of it - the Unknown. You never know the workout until the day of - it is not uncommon to look at the workout and think to yourself (or out loud) "I can't do that"; but with your Trainer there to make sure you do it safely, and your fellow Crossfitters there to encourage you - you will amaze yourself each and every day :)
